Description
The purpose of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Act and Regulations is to promote public safety (protect the public) when dangerous goods are being handled, offered for transport or transported by road, rail, air, or water (marine). TDG also establishes safety requirements to minimize the risks associated with the movement of hazardous materials in Canada.
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Receiver Only) is required for anyone who:
- Receiving dangerous goods;
- Unpacking dangerous goods; and
- Anyone supervising someone who is doing any of the above.
Objectives:
Upon completing this course you will:
- Understand your roles and responsibilities as a Dangerous Goods Receiver;
- Understand fundamentals of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods;
- Understand the types of hazards represented by Transportation of Dangerous Goods Classifications;
- Understand safe working practices for receiving dangerous goods; and
- Be training and certified as a Transportation of Dangerous Goods Receiver with training valid for three years from the date of completion.
