Laboratory Safety for Lab Workers – Initial

Description

This Laboratory Safety course is mandatory for all NEW employees, including faculty and graduate students, who work in a laboratory and handle chemicals and/or other hazardous substances.  

The Lab Safety course provides fundamental health and safety information and guidance for individuals working in laboratory environments, through online and instructor-led components.  The in person session helps students understand practical ways to bring what they learned in the canvas course into everyday practice in the lab.  This course requires you to sign up for and take an instructor-led practical session to be certified.

Individuals requiring Laboratory Safety training must also take the online USask WHMIS 2015 training offered by Safety Resources.

The Laboratory Safety for Lab Workers - Initial training is valid for 3 years. To recertify, take the online Refresher course.
