Description
This Asbestos Awareness course provides information on health and safety when working around asbestos as well as providing training on the USask Asbestos Management Program.
Objectives:
The objective of this awareness course is to provide the basic knowledge of asbestos while working on University of Saskatchewan owned or leased properties. Upon completion you should:
- Understand what is asbestos.
- Understand when asbestos is dangerous.
- Know where Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) can be found at USask.
- Understand the health hazards of asbestos exposure.
- Have knowledge of asbestos regulations and guidelines.
- Understand the Usask Asbestos Management Program (AMP) and who to contact for asbestos-related questions and support.
- Understand USask safety protocols and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for working around asbestos.
- Understand what to do in case Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) is damaged or disturbed.
