Description
Basic Principles of Ethics and Welfare of Animal Use in Science covers material related to the ethical use of animals in research, testing, and teaching with a focus on the guidelines and ethics. Material is divided into 5 modules, each with its own specific topic and goals. There is overlap between the modules, but no module is a prerequisite for any other module, and they can be covered in any order.
Objectives:
In this course, participants will learn:
- Guidelines, Legislation and Regulations
- Animal Welfare, Moral and Ethical issues
- Three Rs of Humane Animal Experimentation
- Pain, Distress and Endpoints
- Euthanasia of Experimental Animals
